Katharda, the main home of Rakdi, is a mountain island a little ways west off of Dalros. A huge island, one that barely anyone ever visits because of the dangers. There are wild beasts, ones not seen on Dalros. Though in the mountain lives the oldest of dwarves. Their society is well advanced. They’ve built it so that no one could find their secret entrances. In the center of the mountain is the main city of the Dwarves, Folta Keor. A huge city, where the King lives. His name was Flarg Teon Bonespliter. He resides there. There are five other cities, each with it’s own chief, who report to the king. They have lived there for thousands and thousands of years.
Throughout the years, the dwarves had had trouble getting supplies because their own were dwindling, so they would get them from other groups to help out. They would give them supplies and would get whatever they wanted from the dwarves, whether it was building things, smelting items, or whatever. They would even let outsiders who seek sanctuary to come there And live there. Over time there have been all sorts of races to live there. Each race has their own leader, with permission from Flarg.
Flarg had been unable to produce an heir to take his place when he would die. This would make him very depressed. One day he noticed his servant, a Bretoonian woman was very beautiful. She had a beautiful singing voice. She had uplifted his spirits and would spend a lot of time with her, hearing her sing to hearing stories about the world above ground. He eventually fell in love with her and had an affair with her. Though one day tragedy struck when she became pregnant. He kept it secret for a long time but eventually his Queen found out. She allowed it to happen. She would give Rakdi a hard time growing up, beating him constantly.
Rakdi grew up as a servant of the house, not knowing that his father was the king. All this time Flarg’s queen had finally had a couple of kids, one boy and one girl. Rakdi was a servant for a long time for the Queen (Magdi) and her young kids. After Flarg learned of this and of the beatings endured, he took Rakdi under his wing and taught him many things. Flarg learned that Rakdi was a scholar, who loved to read and learn about history. Flarg also taught him many forms of combat and he became very efficient at axes of all types and bows. Flarg would tell him many stories or creatures he had to fight, to amazing battles.
Once he was taught well, Flarg had him and Magdi’s children, Smantha and Pijax, summoned to the Throne room for the address of the next heir. Rakdi was surprised to find out that he was a son to Flarg and the next heir to their clan. Smantha and Pijax were not happy. Rakdi was shocked.
Rakdi was threatened by ‘anonymous’ forces to leave or else. Finally Smantha and Pijax cornered him and threatened bodily harm to his mother if he did not leave. He told Flarg of his plans to leave to ‘find’ himself. Flarg could tell something was wrong and let him go. Rakdi told him he would learn of his greatness and that someday he would be famous.
Flarg learned of his other children's plot to get rid of him and shunned them, not giving them any of his wealth. He would send out scouts secretly to monitor him and to learn of his greatness.
Rakdi left wearing civilian garb as not to raise suspicion from the outside world. The way they would communicate would be by a courier through Gaian temples. They would give each other supplies or whatever could be done. The way one could reach the home of the dwarves was to talk to a high priest at a gaian temple.
Throughout his time on Dalros, Rakdi was a soldier during the Creed invasion. He fought well and afterwards while still being employed in the adventurers guild they ordered him to kill people in a town that had surrendered and were no real threat. HE would not do it and left the orginization.
